Wildlife Projects
Conservation Capture has taken over the wildlife area of Mbire South within Zimbabwe, Africa. Our plans are to create a healthy and thriving cohabitation between community and wildlife within this area and areas across Zimbabwe with time. Check out our current projects below and see how you can get involved by donating to a project of your choosing or just read up for more information.
Wildlife Crime Prevention
Illegal hunting, also known as poaching, is a widespread issue in wildlife areas like Mbire South. Despite efforts by safari operators in the vicinity to eliminate it, these measures have not been successful in stopping poaching completely. Learn more about our plans to tackle poaching not only in Mbire but across Zimbabwe and join us to make a positive impact.
Human Wildlife Conflict
"Problem Animals" are predators or dangerous game in the area that harm or kill community members and damage crops, livestock, or homes. Previous attempts to control these animals haven't worked, so Conservation Capture has developed better solutions.
Deforestation
Whilst human encroachment has been controlled, it has not prevented severe after effects of human-living within these wildlife areas. Deforestation continues to be a concern as more and more communities need wood for construction and day-to-day needs.
We've thought of a few ways to combat this concern and plan to implement them as soon as 2024. Read more to see how you can be apart of this project.
Species Reintroduction
& Protection
Conservation Capture has taken over the wildlife area of Mbire South, meaning that hunting operations have come to an end and species are once again protected.
Our plan is to not only protect and preserve current species within the area but to reintroduce species that, too, once thrived here. Check out our plans and get involved with this exciting and meaningful project!
Pollution Control
Due to Mbire South being a Rural District Council, this area is susceptible to litter. Without any means of safe disposal, the area and wildlife suffers.
Conservation Capture plans on tackling this by implementing disposal units throughout the area and educating local communities on the importance of keeping the area clean.
